  • Treatment for Opiate Addiction
    Use of Mitragyna speciosa as an opium substitute as well as a treatment for opium addiction has been reported since the early 19th century.
  • Used in Combo with Betel
    Kratom leaves are sometimes used in combination with Betel.1
  • Mitragynine
    Mitragynine is chemically somewhat similar to yohimbine and psilocybine.1
  • Harvesting Time
    It has been reported that the leaves of M. speciosa are most potent in the late Autumn, just before the leaves fall off.
  • Mellow Gold
    Products sold as "mellow gold" are NOT Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa). At this time (3/21/04), Mellow Gold continues to be sold, but has not been identified. [more info]
